my new glasses | eyebuydirect.com

The two year waiting period between getting a new pair of glasses and being able to finally be eligible for another pair feels like decades, especially when the pair you got weren't your favorite to begin with. I often find that optometrist don't carry the most up to date style of glasses - or at least the one my family goes to doesn't. The struggle of finding a decent pair and making that 2 year commitment is tough.

My next available time to get a new pair isn't for another year and that was just too long of a wait for me. I found myself constantly searching up youtube and blog reviews of different websites that sold frames that were cute, but wouldn't break the bank. I came across a few - firmoo, selectspecs and eyebuydirect; the company I ultimately ended up going with.

Eyebuydirect is spot on with the current trends and their pricing is set to where it'll fit anyones budget. The lowest frame being set at $6 and the highest at $70. The pair I got was priced at $15 and with the lens I chose, my final price came out to a little less than $19.

I placed my order on a Saturday night and received my glasses that next Saturday around the afternoon time. So, you can say shipping was pretty fantastic. One week to get your prescription, fit your lenses to your frames and get them to your home all in just one week? I was definitely impressed with their timing.

When you receive you glasses, they come in a cute brown little box with a string to assist you in pulling it out. Inside you'll find you glasses protectively wrapped in a cloth-like drawstring case along with a screwdriver for any adjustments you may need to make and a business card.

To be completely honest, the sides of the glasses do feel a bit flimsy, but the actual lens part feels pretty sturdy. The set of frames I chose are pretty dainty, so that could be the reasoning behind how mine feel, but I can't be too sure seeing as I only have one pair.

I will say though, the main reason I went with this company was because of all the raving reviews. Everyone went on and on about how well constructed they were so it may just be this specific pair.

The only issue I faced with this company was the lack of communication. I tweeted their customer service twitter a couple of times and didn't get a reply most of the time. That's a huge downfall in my opinion considering all the questions I was tweeting them were in regards to my order. Quality is great, the prescription is correct, the timing is fantastic, but the communication and help could use a little work.
